My Favorite City : New York City
New York :
Here are a few of my fav places in my favourite city, NYC! ... I hope this helps you the next time you visit NYC.
NewYork :
1. Rockefeller tree
Since I went during the holiday season, I got a chance to visit the Rockefeller tree which is a large Christmas tree placed in Rockefeller Center every year in midtown manhattan. The tree is erected in mid-November and lit in a public ceremony in late November or early December. It is covered with a million glittering facets.
A florescent star tops the annual Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. Most of the time it is very crowded [it is most crowded in the evening and when it is close to Christmas]. I would pass this tree quite often when I used to walk from our Airbnb to the closest Starbuck and it never failed to amaze me!
2. Central park
Central Park is open all year round and is the perfect spot to empty your picnic basket while you look at the Upper West and Upper East Sides of Manhattan. I went here during the holidays so most of the trees had no leaves because of the weather so it did not look like the picture above but it was still pretty, all covered in snow (shown in the picture below). It is the fifth-largest park in the country and one of the most visited urban parks in the United States with an estimated 38 million visitors. It is a lovely place to spend your time with your family or just alone! My family and I went for a long stroll through the park, a couple times during our visit and I really enjoyed the fresh air and snow.

3. Brooklyn bridge
The Brooklyn Bridge is a hybrid cable-stayed/suspension bridge in New York City, going over the East River between the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn! The bridge had 2 parts- upper section for people and cyclists and the lower one for vehicles like cars. You can walk from Manhattan to Brooklyn and see the famous NYC skyline. It was a great spot for pictures and to watch the sunset. This bridge was an amazing experience for my family and me!
4. NYU [NEW YORK UNIVERSITY]
As I said, this was my first time in the US so I had never got a chance to visit my sister at her university. I have to say. it was really fun as she gave us a long tour of her college and she took us to her favourite spot to eat between classes- Sweetgreen- which you may already have heard of! For the first time, I got to see how the dorms were made and how the students had to do everything themselves without anybody’s help like do the laundry, cook food, etc.! The lifestyle in a college was very different but interesting at the same time. My sister’s university was not a campus but just buildings close together downtown. This setting was very different than the ones I see in movies and shows! Since I had not explored this place of NYC we decided to explore more by walking around downtown Manhattan, which is supposed to be the most lively part of this city.
5. Hudson Yards and the Highline
Hudson Yards is a 28-acre real estate development in the Chelsea and Hudson Yards neighbourhoods of Manhattan, New York City. You may have seen this structure-” the vessel” in the music video of ‘take away’[one of my favourite songs!]. In the Hudson yard is another tourist spot-the high line. It was a railway station earlier but when it was abandoned, the area was made into an elevated linear park and trail in New York City. There is grass growing in all places with flowers; and since no one is there to take care of these plants, they grow naturally along the railway track, which was beautiful. This is an amazing place to come to during sunset or sunrise. I do not recommend going to visit this place at night as the visibility level goes lower and you can not see the appealing view.
I hope you enjoyed reading about my favourite spots in NYC! Keep an eye out for my next post!
Stay safe,
Saisha 💕
